 MLA - Works Cited Format
When you are researching a topic it is very important to cite your sources.  You must record the materials that you used to obtain your information.  The format that we use to cite our sources is called MLA (Modern Language Association).  Works Cited is a list of the sources you used for your research assignment.

Below is a list of how to cite various sources using the MLA format:


BOOK, ONE AUTHOR           1202006_35827_1.png        
Author surname, first name.  “Title of resource.”  Place of publication: Publisher, copyright date.  

Example:
Hanley, Jenna.  Natural Science in Canada.  Toronto: Quadrangle Press/McGraw-Hill Books,

1999.

BOOK, TWO OR THREE AUTHORS              1202006_40522_2.png
Graham, Wesley, Jennifer Lock, and Leslie Dunn.  History of Democracy.  Garden City, N.Y.:
Doubleday Canada Inc., 1994.


BOOK, MORE THAN THREE AUTHORS
Edens, Walter, et al.  Teaching Shakespeare.  Princeton: Princeton UP, 1977.


MAGAZINE / PERIODICAL ARTICLE
