Yesterday on June 6th, Notre Dame hosted its First Annual Spelling Bee! Students in grades 3-8 competed in the competition – they studied over 200 words from Scripps National Spelling Bee Competitions from three different levels (primary, junior and intermediate). They showed their courage, confidence and determination competing on the gym stage.
Congratulations to grade 3 student, Leo Mazza, who came in 1st Place and won a $50 Amazon gift card! Congratulations to Keira VanLangenberg, a grade 8 student for coming in 2nd Place and winning a $30 Amazon gift card and Nicholas Boutsis, a grade 8 student for coming in 3rd Place and winning a $25 gift card.
Thank you to Mr. Foster for setting up the gym, Ms. Bianchi for helping with the technology requirements, Ms. Carerra for helping the students on the stage and to our coaches, Ms. Boutsis, Ms. Lupo, Mr. Gabriele and Ms. Konecny for coaching the students these past few months.
